Biscay took a last swipe at Armel le Cleac’h as he fought his way home against some of the strongest winds he had encountered during the whole race, but the last stretch was blessed by brilliant sunshine, giving those ready to brave the chilly winds and still fairly rough seas a superb spectacle.
The Vendée Globe site has some lively pictures of a delighted Armel – including one of him out on the end of an outrigger.
This race has produced some superb photos – I hope they will appear in calendars and posters in due course.
