While I’m finishing off some more serious podcasts, perhaps you’d like to while away a few minutes with this WS Gilbert poem. Sorry about the accent - I come from Hampshire, not Kent. But I still think it’s better than Dick van Dyke’s effort at cockney…

Loved it! I’ve not heard that poem before. Any recipes?
I used to love hearing it when I was a kid - I guess most little boys would.
Recipe? For Long Pig? Here are some links - or do you want me to contribute one to http://www.notdelia.co.uk ?

… the last one is real, the others are spoofs. All pretty gross.
Interesting. I thought the first link was a bit bland, and the third a bit of fun for kids. But the second looked as though the person knew what they were talking about (probably someone with surgical or butchery experience). It made me think of Jack the Ripper - the murders done by someone who clearly knew what they were doing.
I’ve eaten some strange things in my time - ants, grasshopper, dog, but never long pig (and don’t want to). If you’d like to do something to gross out the readers of Not Delia, then you’re very welcome to do a guest blog slot. I doubt if Delia herself has such a thing so perhaps it would be good for Not Delia to do it first.
