Ocean Racing Trends - a podcast

I’ve tried a couple of videos, and I’ll be making more in due course, but it’s time I learned how to podcast.

There are one or two problems I still have to overcome - particularly muting the sibilant esses - but I reckon this first effort will have to do while I work out how to improve. If necessary, I’ll buy a headset with a better mike. Try it, anyway - it won’t damage your ears.

  1. Wow, that’s a great effort for your very first podcast. I’m impressed! Looking forward to the next one. Well done.

  2. Now you’ve made me blush… But thanks for the encouragement.

Or are you just trying to discourage me from making any more videos?

  3. Yeah, I don’t think I could stand the competition. ;-) Seriously, other than the small problem with the equipment, I thought it was as good as any professional radio presenter.

  4. I think I’ve managed to fix the screeching esses by moving the headset mic a bit further away. The next podcast should prove it one way or another. I looked for more expensive headsets, but they just had better earphones (which I don’t need) and a volume/mute cotrol in the lead (which I usually end up smashing by treading on it).

If moving the mic doesn’t fix the problem, I’ll look for fancy editing software with graphic equalisers to attenuate the high frequencies.
