New Freebooters 2009 - what to expect
My apologies to my regular visitors for the lack of new content over the Christmas/New Year break. I’ve been too busy to write, but I haven’t stopped reading and researching.
I’ve been looking back at what I posted during the last few months of 2008, trying to judge how well it fits my goal of making New Freebooters a site that more and more of you will want to follow as it develops. I feel that I have made a reasonable start, but have only hinted at what I hope will soon define this site - valuable information presented accurately and in a way that is easy to understand, and the opportunity to discuss and sometimes dispute my opinions via the comments field of each post.
Here are the subjects I shall concentrate on during the early part of 2009:
- Marine electrics and electronics. This will be a major category for New Freebooters in 2009.
- Boat handling and seamanship. I’ll concentrate on the difficult stuff - and name my sources, of course.
- Boat food. Ideas and recipes for feeding hungry crews under all weather conditions.
- Ocean racing and record-breaking events. Less day-to-day than in 2008, but I’ll comment on all the exciting bits and look for offbeat connections.
I reckon that’s quite enough variety for one blog. First post coming up in a day or so.
A Happy, Healthy and Solvent New Year to you all.
